A Study Guide for Small Groups
Written in 1962, A.W. Tozer’s classic, Knowledge of the Holy offers timeless truths in a simple structure that can formatively shape the theological underpinnings of a person’s faith.

“What possible meaning can the self-existence of God have for me and others like me in a world such as this and in times such as this?”  To this I reply, that because we are the handiwork of God, it follows that all our problems and their solutions are theological.  Some knowledge of what kind of God it is that operates the universe is indispensable to a sound philosophy of life and a sane outlook on the world scene. (Knowledge of the Holy, p. 27)

The study questions below use Tozer’s structure, with the Bible, to ignite thoughtful conversations that will extend our beliefs, attitudes and walk towards God.  Feel free to use these questions and let us know what you think.  Your feedback is welcome, so please contact us by emailing.

Jonique, thanks for the feedback. Feel free to shoot me some feedback and let us know how we can improve the study questions.

I am a pastor using your guide with four guys in a discipleship group. So far it seems that you are finding the hot spots in their thinking. We’re covering 3 chapters per week and we’ll catch up to your posts soon. So keep the study guides coming…and quick! Ha! :)

@ Thomas. Appreciate you sharing how you’re using this stuff.

I’ll do my best to stay in front of you, but don’t think it’s going to happen. Kudos on covering that much ground. We’re lucky to get through 1 chapter in our group.

  • Ryan says:

Thanks for the notes on this book. They dig much deeper than our last study. Our group is really enjoying this study.

  • John Finney says:

Great to see you using this book! It is so awesome because it exalts God so wonderfully. What a great God!

Also just seeing your blog. I’ll enjoy looking around.

    • Milo says:

@ John. Thanks for checking this out. Yeah, it is a great book. Our small group discussions have really brought these rather abstract concepts to life. Appreciate your feedback.

  • Andrea says:

Thank you so much for sharing these discussion questions in such an accessible format. We are reading and discussing this book in our small group and trying to cover 2 chapters a week. One chapter a week would be better, but certain members were concerned about spending that much time in this one book. So we do what we can. Your guides are a definite asset- thank you!

Thanks for putting these together. Other than the Bible, I found Tozer’s writing to be some of the most important in my spiritual life. I’d like to share these with my small group
